Health & Safety
Fresh Fit is the safest way to get fit and not get the novel coronavirus, an assertion backed by science. Being outdoors dramatically lowers risk because wind, sunlight and humidity disrupt viral viability. In one study of 7,000 confirmed transmissions, researchers identified a single case that occurred outdoors. Being outdoors also allows for aggressive social distancing, dropping the chance of transmission to practically zero. In addition, exercise boosts participants’ immune responses, providing another measure of protection.
Few things are more frustrating than having to pause a fitness routine due to injury. It seems unfair that training can make you feel so good and provide so many benefits yet sometimes leads to conditions that disrupt training. Unfortunately, the only way to avoid all training injuries is to never get off the couch. If you don’t use your body, it will never get hurt, yet lethargy presents its own risks: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, depression, obesity, etc. Compared to open-heart surgery, calf strain isn’t so bad.
To minimize injuries, Fresh Fit consistently abides by a set of best practices: assessments of new participants, pre-workout warmups, post-workout stretching, reinforcement of good form and technique, calibrated increases in training intensity, accommodation of underlying health issues (spinal issues, misalignments, etc.). We strive to keep you healthy.
Yes. Fresh Fit instructors always put safety first. Instructors are certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine or other reputable licensing board, and they have extensive real-world experience training a broad range of athletes.
The Workout
Expect the unexpected. Yes, you’ll train all muscle groups at every workout. Some days will emphasize cardio. Other workouts will focus on strength or endurance, balance or flexibility or core power. Every day is different.
No problem. Every movement has modified versions designed to assist participants with temporary limitations. Unable to do a standard pushup due to surgery, injury or muscle fatigue? Modified pushups will build strength and build enthusiasm. In no time, you’ll be knocking out textbook-perfect pushups.
Well, you have to like training outside, fresh air, space to spread out, sunrises and workout attire that changes with the seasons.
It also helps if you enjoy the benefits of group training: motivation, accountability, camaraderie and (friendly) competition.
